LATEST NEWS
A New Committee
On the 12th July 2010, Kingfisher JFC held it's AGM at the Lord Kitchener Public House. During the meeting last year's committee was dissolved and a new one for the 2010/11 season formed.
The new membership is as follows:
Chairperson Tim Austin
Vice Chairman Chris Barkway
Secretary Andy Clasper
Vice Secretary Rob Gutteridge
Treasurer John Lee
Fixture Secretary Tricia Harman
Social Secretary Justin Landers
Welfare Officer Bill Faulks
Minute Secretary Toni London
Ex Officios
Gary Dixon
Gary Staples
Terry Newcombe
All contact details are available on the Kingfisher website: www.KJFC.co.uk
Outgoing committee members were:
Terry Newcombe: Terry presided over the club as Chairperson. He has been involved with Kingfisher for the last 11 years helping with the committee and managing one of our teams.
Trevor Bennett; Trevor was secretary for the club for 2 years. During that time he continued to strive to move the club forward including starting the Saturday Soccer Club.
Lynn Warner: Lynn was the minute taker at the meetings she has unfailingly captured and recorded all that was said for many years.
Nick Amor: Nick was the vice secretary. As well as managing a very successful football team he has been responsible for organising two very successful tournaments. He now updates the Kingfisher website.
We also changed the club constitution to allow up to 5 ex officios to sit on the board. The ex officios can be parents or managers. Their role is to ensure that the club is being lead and run correctly and fairly by the committee.
As you can see we are still two ex officios short. If you fancy the role please contact Andy Clasper on 07816047082.
What Do We have Planned for the Club
We strive to be the best local/community football club. We want to create a club where all parents, carers, managers, players and volunteers feel part of the Kingfisher family. Within that we want to provide a safe environment, which allows the young people of our community to grow their football and life skills.
We have ambitious development plans for the club:
We want to dramatically increase the number of teams playing under Kingfisher colours
We want to field female teams.
We want to increase our coaching and teaching skills so we can give your children the best training.
BUT we cannot do this without your help.
We need players, coaches, volunteers. This year alone we want to increase the number of mini soccer teams playing for us.
Do you know anyone who has children (boys or girls because we want to develop female soccer as well) between years 1 and 5 who want to play football but can't find a club? Do you or your friend's fancy helping as a coach or manager?
Did you know we have been running a Saturday Soccer Club at Hall Place every Saturday between 0930 and 1100 since March this year. On occasion we have had over 30 kids between 5 and 10 years old joining us. We are continuing with this in September after the summer break. Perhaps you would like to help with the Saturday Soccer Club. We will provide all the training and support you need.
What Do You Want From The Club?
What do you want from us? What would you like to see happening at your club. You pay for it through your subs, so tell us. All ideas gratefully received we might not be able to make it happen but if it moves us forward then we will try.
